Spring Cleaning

The Israelites has a custom at Passover called "The days of Unleavened Bread." At that time, once a year, they would clean up the home looking for anything and everything containing leaven and remove it. (Today, if you did this you might even clean out the crumbs in the toaster.) Leaven is a Bible symbol for sin. So, symbolically they were cleansing their home of sin. Today we have a custom inherited from our ancestors (fathers) called "Spring Cleaning".

Deuteronomy 7:24 Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: [but] thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it [is] a cursed thing. Might there be a few items in your house that would discourage God's blessing upon your home?

Question: In Deuteronomy 7:24 we find a command about certain wicked kings. "And he (God) shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven..."

King of Kings: At Christmas time you have seen the word "Christmas" spelled "Xmas." Have you wondered why? The wicked work constantly to remove Christ, Christianity, then Christians from a society. They (not Christians) have removed prayer from schools.

They (not we) have been successful at placing the names of other gods in our society. For example, our intercontinental ballistic missiles are named after the gods Thor and Atlas. (Why not Joshua and Samson?) Our mission to the moon was named after the god Apollo. (Why not Paul?)

A major Christian holiday is named after Ishtar (pronounced "Easter"), their goddess of sex. See "Easter" in any dictionary or encyclopedia. At Easter they publish newspaper articles telling us about the origin of the word Easter. They love to 'rub our nose' in our sin, and laugh because we don't even know we are sinning.

It is interesting to see what is revealed when a Bible word study is done on the words "the wicked" in Psalms and "they" in the New Testament. If you have a Concordance you might want to study these words, (1) 'the wicked' and (2) 'they'.)
